In short: Jlerts runs on your own PC and keeps your alerts, media and settings there. There are no analytics, ads or trackers, in the app or on this website. Logins are kept in Windows Credential Manager and only ever sent to the service they belong to.
Who we are
Jlerts ("the app") and this website are made by Jayconius ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, contact us through jayconius.com.
This website
- Hosting. The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. We don't add analytics or tracking of our own.
- No cookies, no newsletters and no accounts on this site. Downloading the app needs nothing from you.
The app
- Stored on your PC only: your alerts, pictures, sounds, layout, triggers, goals and settings, in the app's data folder (⚙ Settings → Open app data folder). We never receive them.
- Logins for Twitch, Streamlabs and StreamElements, the Ko-fi relay secret and the OBS WebSocket password are kept in Windows Credential Manager and only sent to the service they belong to (OBS: only on your own PC).
- Services the app talks to, directly from your PC: Twitch (log in, stream events, channel-point rewards, follower counts), Streamlabs and StreamElements (donation events), and OBS on your PC. Each has its own privacy policy.
- Ko-fi. Ko-fi can only send tips to a web address, so tips pass through a small relay we run on Cloudflare (relay.jlerts.com). It removes the supporter's email address and passes the tip straight on to your app. It stores nothing; if your app is offline, Ko-fi is told to try again later.
- Streamlabs log-in. When you log in to Streamlabs, the one-time code Streamlabs gives your app is swapped for your login through our server on Cloudflare (so the app's Streamlabs secret never has to ship inside the app). It's passed straight back to your app and isn't stored or logged.
- Chat overlays. To show emotes, the app asks 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ for your channel's emotes (it sends your Twitch channel ID). Profile pictures come from Twitch. If you switch on pronouns in a chat overlay, chatters' usernames are sent to pronouns.alejo.io to look them up; it's off by default.
- Text-to-speech runs on your PC: the voices built into Windows (adding voices uses Windows Update, from Microsoft) and, if you download them, Kokoro voices. Nothing you have read aloud is sent anywhere. Downloading Kokoro fetches its files from this website.
- Update checks. The app asks this website now and then whether a newer version is out, sending only its own version number, and downloads the update from here if there is one. We don't log these checks.
- No analytics or telemetry. The app doesn't report usage, crashes or anything else to us.
Your viewers' information
Stream events contain viewers' names, messages and amounts. The app uses them on your PC to show alerts, read messages aloud and count goals, and keeps a short list of recent events while it's open. We never receive this information. As the streamer, you decide what is shown on your stream.
Your rights
We don't hold any personal information about you. If you contact us, we only use what you send to reply. You can ask us what we hold, to correct it or to delete it, through jayconius.com. If you're in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Children
Jlerts is made for streamers and isn't aimed at children under 13. Twitch and the other services have their own age rules.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
